March 4th..mark your calendars!!! 2/19/09

Wow, what an interesting appointment up at CHOP today!

We met with the "head guy" of the fetal heart program, Dr Rychik after having an echo done. He told us that the heart is pretty much looking the same that it has and discussed with us some things we can expect during the day of delivery. He stressed to us that Kaiden will be the one calling the shots, he may need surgery within the first day, or possibly not for a few days. Only time will tell! We also met with the anesthiologist for Kaiden, as well as Dr Groober who would be performing any surgery done on Kaiden. Anthony and i both really liked everyone we met today and finally walked away with our heads held high, but also still with the reality of it all.

When we were meeting with the anesthiologist, she had asked if it was a boy or girl. We told her a boy, and Jill ( the nurse in the room ) mentioned that he has a name. the Dr asked what name we had picked and we told her Kaiden. She said " well then we need to start calling him by his name!" and continued referring to "him" as Kaiden which was just SO nice to hear from a doctor :)

The plan: My next appointment is Thursday Feb 26th, which i will have a prenatal visit along with having an echo done and meeting with the dr to review that. Our next appointment is scheduled for the day before D-DAY, Tuesday March 3rd..i will have some blood tests done and fill out surgery papers and have a chance to ask any last minute questions and get info on the next days plans. As of right now, they have me coming in at 6am Wednesday March 4th, and said that i should be done with surgery by 7:30-8am. From there will be recovering for me, and Kaiden greeting everyone with lots of crying and strength! :)

So has for anthony and i? Yeah, we're nervous!!! Meeting with all of the different doctors today really made us realize that meeting Kaiden is only a week and some days away! It has came up so quick it seems like. But other than being nervous, we are more then ready for our little boy to be here and be able to care for him and show him all of the love we've been holding for him. We plan on taking lots of pics during delivery and before they scoop him away and of course while he's recovering from everything. So i will figure out how to post them on here and have the up as soon as possible!

Ok, its almost bed time! If i dont write back before my next appointment, there will definately be something here after next Thursday. Thank you all of the prayers and encouraging thoughts! We could not have made it this far without it!!

And by the way, little Kaiden weighed in at 6lbs 14oz today! Im thinking he will definately be atleast 7lbs by the time he's born!! :)
