Our precious little Miracle!...3/6/09

Kaiden is doing wonderful! We actually saw his doctor again who continued to tell us how amazed she is with our little boy! She said that every echo they've done has shown improvement in his heart each time! AMAZING!! Kelly had found this little poem and send it to me, so i thought i'd share it with everyone...its so cute :)

A Wee Bit of Heaven
A wee bit of heaven
Drifted down from above
A handful of happiness
A heartful of love
A mystery of life
So sacred and so sweet
The giver of joy
So deep and complete.
Precious and priceless
So lovable too
The world's sweetest miracle
Kaiden, it's you!

Anthony & I were so excited to visit with our little boy today. He is looking great! Everything is still pretty much the same. ive been feeling a little under the weather, i guess it could be a combination of things, i dont have much of an appetite so therefore i dont have much energy. I guess it's all normal from having major surgery then going through everything that we are, and also trying to pump every 3 hrs makes Mommy very tired! But here are some pictures from today...enjoy!

Our little Miracle!...3/3/09

Kaiden has been such a fighter since day one! We went up to visit with him today, and on our way in we met up with one of his doctors. She had said that they had a meeting this morning about Kaiden and what they all think should be done. They all agreed that they should watch and see how Kaiden is going to re act to the one part of the heart closing and determine more after that what should be done. But the doctor was very impressed with Kaidens health and said that she was amazed! She even said that he may not even need surgery before going home, he may need something further down the road. And also said that he may have to stay for up to 2 months or as little as 3 more weeks or so, it just all depends on how he reacts when his heart has the change that theyre waiting for it to do. This was such encouraging news, especially coming from the Dr that had said before that he may not even survive to term, he may not survive the first few hours after birth, he may need a transplant..to may not even needing surgery right away!!! Either way, our little boy is such a miracle in our eyes. We thank everyone for all of their thoughts and prayers...God works wonders and it shows! Ive added a few pics from our visit today to see him, he looks so great!!

Mommy did a great job with her first diaper change on me!!

Update... 3/3/09

Anthony and I came home last night, at that time he had some lights on him for his jaundice which the nurse said was common. We called up to check on Kaiden before going to bed. The nurse had told us that he was having a little trouble with his left lung, so they put him on a little more oxygen and every hour they would put him on his side and pat his back. She said they would do another xray this morning to check on it. When we called up this morning she said he was doing good, and they xray showed improvement. Just another milestone our little boy has to cross....but everything else has been stable. We are heading back up in a little bit to visit with him for awhile. Here are a few pics that we took before leaving yesterday. Ill update again after we come home. Keep little Kaiden in your prayers for us...hes being such a strong little boy already and we are so proud of him!

One day at a time.....3/1/09

A little update:
Kaiden has now been taken off of one medicine and has been doing fine. This evening he may also come off of the breathing tube. We were told by one of the doctors that Tuesdays are their "surgery day" or when they discuss surgical options for the babies and stuff, so she said that they may bring Kaiden up in the discussion and see what surgical options we may have for him. That would be nice to kind of get things rolling a little more because right now i think is the time when they just try and see how he will react to the different meds and being taken off of certain things. We've taken a few more pictures of our little boy so of course ill post them :)

As for me, ive been feeling pretty good. Ive had some back pain more so in the evening i think just from being up and moving around more like i should. I get discharged tomrrow and they are also supposed to be taking my staples out before we leave too(FUN!) haha. Hopefully we can make it home with all of this snow thats decided to pop up! Thank you all for all of the flowers, balloons and thoughts and prayers. Anthony and I are so lucky to have so many people supporting us through this amazing yet hard time. I'll continue to update as we hear more news. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to email me... soinlove831@hotmail.com
